Why now
What state schools in England have to do now:

An Anaphylaxis Kitt holds four pens, two 300mcg and two 150mcg, replaced automatically before they expire, with the staff training included.

What we do measure. Like the rest of this site, the page uses privacy-first analytics so we can see whether the tool is useful, which we run only with your consent. That records the choices you make (which approach you picked, whether you copied the email) but never what you typed. The school suggestion list is excluded from recording outright. Where the school list comes from. School lookup uses Get Information about Schools (GIAS) open data from the Department for Education, © Crown copyright, under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Snapshot taken 3 September 2026, covering 26,323 open schools, nurseries and colleges in England. Head-teacher names are public records and can lag a change of head, so please double-check the greeting.
About the law. The Department for Education’s statutory guidance, Allergy safety in schools, was published in July 2026. State-funded schools in England must have regard to it from September 2026, which covers the allergy safety policy, staff training, individual healthcare plans and incident recording. The separate duty to stock spare adrenaline auto-injectors needs new regulations and is expected in the new year, so a school that has not yet stocked them is not currently in breach. It is the guidance behind what campaigners call Benedict’s Law. Independent schools are not covered by the statutory duty, though the guidance is offered to them too.
